Petter Löfström
Two years after his debut-CD "Livets dörr", Petter now releases his second album "Yield To Gravity". In the 12 songs, Petter now finds his influences in the 60s and 70s.
- In my teens, I listened a lot to The Beatles and as I picked up my song-writing after finishing Livets dörr, I found myself quite inspired by their harmonies. But I've tried not to create pastiches. Here the co-operation with Thomas Tjärnkvist has been vital. In his arrangements and production he has brought in wider influences. He has also been open to use instruments such as clarinets, violins, ukuleles, and glockenspiel among the drums and electric guitars.
- A lot of people have asked me why the lyrics are in English. The simple answer is that it felt natural considering the musical influences. And not only does English have a rich vocabulary; it also contains a fantastic musicality.
