Susann Végh och Johan Westre

For several years, Susann Végh and Johan Westre had been performing songs and romances from the 18th and 19th century. As they looked for material to extend their repertoir, Johan came to think of Bo Linde whose compositions he had met as a teenager when he worked as a page turner at the Swedish Radio Broadcast Company (Sveriges Radio).

The mezzo-soprano Susann Végh graduated from the Royal Opera Academy of Stockholm in 1996. She was then engaged as a soloist at Bonn's opera company in Germany. Since 2000 she is a member of the Royal Opera Company of Stockholm. She has participated in numerous orchestra and chamber music concertos. Earlier CD recordings include Die Schöne Helena by the Bayriche Radio Orchestra in Munich 2005.

Johan Westre began his piano studies when he was 17 with the Swedish Radio Music School in Edsberg, under Prof. José Ribera. There he also studied chamber music under Frans Helmersson, Sven-Erik Bäck, and Lars Frydén. In 1985 he continued his studies at Mozarteum in Salzburg under Prof. Hans Leygraf. Since then he has performed recitals both in Sweden and abroad.

In October 2005 he released the CD Mozart Piano Sonatas which contains Mozart’s last three piano sonatas – C major (K 545), B flat major (K 570), and D major (K 576) – as well as the variations over Twinkle Twinkle Little Star (”Ah, vous dirai-je, Maman”, K 265)

Bo Linde

The compositions of Bo Linde are a milestone in contemporary Swedish music. Despite his early decease at the age of 37, his musical production is impressive. Besides works for orchestras, he also shared a great love for poetry. Parallel to other composing, he often put music to contemporary poems, Sånger is the first CD which have gathered many of his songs on one CD.
